Ask me if I am angry, yes I am fucking angry.

“Nicola Sturgeon has refused to rule out slashing the number of Scotland’s councils after next week’s Holyrood election.”

Sturgeon: Number of councils could be cut as reforms kick in

I have been predicting this for ages and so it begins. She is now so confident, even though the election is not until next week.

For the working class to have real power and control we need a democracy that works for us. That democracy has to start in the workplace and then move out to the local communities, “all Power to the Soviets”, springs to mind here.

The further you displace workplace democracy from local democracy and local democracy moved to the centre, the less real democracy you will have and less control and power in any real decision making. But that is all part of the master plan. Centralise first, this leads to privatisation and negates workplace and community democracy and then you control everything.

I have been saying for ages that the merger of Councils was the next step for the Centralist SNP. They Start with the Police, the Fire Services, move onto Further Education and now as I predicted their next step is local government. They will reduce the 32 local government areas to between 6-8. This will make these local Governments nothing more than management companies. Local Management Companies that can only hand out and manage contracts to private companies.

Between 1894 – 1930 there were 82 councils in Fife. Between 1930 – 1975 there were 33. Between 1975 – 1996 there were 4…. From 1996 to the present day, we now have 1. With these new SNP plans we will be merged with Edinburgh or Dundee. We have seen local democracy decimated over the decades, this is the end.

Just watch the job losses when they start to “re-profile” (re-profile, the new SNP newspeak for cuts) local government, amalgamated health boards and school academies. There is a local government jobs Armageddon on the horizon. The predicted 15,000 job losses just might be a huge underestimate.

SNP democracy is a complete and utter sham. Tartan Tories all the same. The SNP want control of everything from Holyrood. They want to rule the country the the same way they rule their party. From the top down, with no democracy. Look at their conferences, totally controlled and scripted. They are working democratic centralism the wrong way around, with the top dictating policy to the members. They are just like the Tories in every way but have fooled some of the working class into believing they are different.

This destruction of local democracy and the start of the academisation of our schools, the NHS Social welfare reforms, all go hand in hand and are the ultimate in Tory policies. This is what they are all about. Privatisation and political control from the centre, whilst allowing privateer corporations free reign.

Just look at and scrutinise their own bloody 2016 pseudo Tory manifesto. Open your eyes and minds, the are wolves in sheep clothing. But you will just keep on bleating and tell me they are for the working class.

Tell me again, where is the Social Democratic SNP now. They have always been and will always be nothing but neo-liberal, nationalist, opportunist Tory and corporate lap dogs.

As for the so called “working class socialists” advocating voting for them, shame on you.

And yes I am am fucking angry and so should you be.

  1. Yes you are right it has always been obvious that that was the way they would go. When the people of Scotland find that they have no say in the decision making they will cry….we wis deceived when they should say we didn’t listen

      1. Theay are talking of creating regional education boards in their manifesto and below is straight from that.

“We will give more power and resources direct to schools, to put teachers, parents and communities in the driving seat of school improvement”

“We will also raise an additional £500 million from reform of local tax over the next Parliament and invest it directly in schools, providing the money to head-teachers to use to improve education locally.”

This was how the Tories started the process to turn all schools into Academies. It is always about giving more power to Head Teachers and communities. Then the reality kicks in that is more about destroying local government and local democracy, whilst preparing our education system for privatisation.
